Over the Holiday Break ...
GYMNASTICS
Bedford High School Varsity Gymnastics competed in the second meet of the season hosted by Pinkerton High School, host at Eclipse Training Center in Manchester, NH. The athletes had a strong meet all around, showing some improvement on Bars.  Bulldogs place 2nd to Pinkerton with a 124.45 team score.  Bedford and Nashua South were head to head the entire meet, but Bedford was able to pull ahead.  BHS also had some individual placements. Sophomore Olivia Bouthot place 3rd on  Floor (3way tie) with an 8.7 and  3rd on Beam  with an 8.1.


Boy's and Girls' Varsity INDOOR TRACK
Great first meet of two meets held at UNH as the boys' placed 1st out off 11 teams with 79.5 total points, the boys are off to a great start to the season.  Stand out athletes ... Freshman, Zach Verow coming in 1st in the 55m dash and helping out in both the 4 x 400m and 4 x 160m.  Senior, Connor Collins took first in the 600m and pushed the 4 x 400m and 4 x 160m relays to 1st place victories.  Junior, Connor Keiffer squeezed out a narrow 1st place victory in the 1000m.  Sophomore, Lucien Mumpini came in 2nd in the long jump missing an automatic state qualifying marks by 1 inch.

  • 4x160 - Veronica Gikas, Hannah Mikol, Jessica O'Brien, Ellie Flynn
1st place finishers in second meet:
  • Delaney Flanagan - 1500
  • Olivia Coco - 600
  • Molly McCoole - High Jump
  • Mollie Redman - Long Jump.  Mollie was also the leading point scorer with 12


Boys' Varsity BASKETBALL
BHS won it's opening round game in the queen city tournament game against Exeter 52 - 47. Bulldogs had a big lead of 22 - 9 at the end of the 1st quarter, and a 29 to 22 ead at the half. The second half was close throughout the entire half.  BHS was led by Max Chartier with 19 points and Liam Greene and Eric Brown each had 10.BHS lost in the second round of the Queen City Christmas tourney by a score of 58 to 54 vs Lebanon. Nick Mokas and Max Chartier led the BHS with 17 and 16 pts each.  And, the Bulldogs won the consolation game of the 3rd quarter of the Queen City Invitational with a score of 57 to 47 over West High School. Max Chartier led BHS with 23 points. Max had a great 3 day tournament with 19, 16, and 23 points. Liam Greene and Nolan Anderson had each had 12 points for the Bulldogs.


WRESTLING
The wrestling team placed 4th in the Hollis Nor’Easter tournament over the Christmas break. Congratulations to reshman Jack Carrozzi who won the 113lb weight class and to sophomore captain AJ Pagliarulo who won the 138lb weight class and was named the tournament’s outstanding wrestler.  Also placing for the Bulldogs were freshmen Jack Plante 3rd at 113lbs and Daniel Ethridge 2nd at 126lbs.  Sophomore, Jonnie Redman was 3rd at 120lbs.  The wrestling team also participated in the 73 team Lowell Holiday wrestling tournament over Christmas break.  Congratulations to sophomore captain AJ Pagliarulo who placed 2nd at 132lbs and freshman Jack Carrozzi who placed 8th at 113lbs.


Girls' Varsity BASKETBALL
On her 18th birthday, Jenoyce Laniyan scored 18 points to lead Bedford to a 58-40 win over Memorial in the first round of the Central High Holiday Tournament.  After a sluggish start, Bedford led 23-18 at the half but came out strong in the second half with 10 unanswered points. Alexa Dyer had 9 points for the Bulldogs.






ICE HOCKEY 
The Varsity hockey team played Londonderry Monday night. Bedford got on the board late into the first period with a goal from Jay Roberto. Bedford came out into the second period with goals from Jake Rioux, Jack McDonough and 3 from Griffin Gagne. We finished the night with goals from Kyle Greer and Shannon Lambert. The goal scores had a lot of help from Jack Flanagan, Colin Voloshin, Zach Bayer, Jake Sanclemente, and Parker Roberto. Erik Voloshin and Ryan Lee split the duties in net.
