Mia Roy led the offense, pushing the ball up the court to initate the offense.  The defense worked hard all game, led by Maddie Blake and Jenoyce Laniyan shutting down Alvirne’s two leading scorers.

Excellent work out there at the Souhegan Sprints at Legacy on Saturday.  In addition to the regular Division I teams we had host Souhegan, ConVal, Hanover, Lebanon, and Plymouth to contend with. This combined with the higher temperatures and slushy conditions made for an exciting event.  Hard fought battles took place, some won and some lost.  In the end three girls (Abi, Molly and Sophia) and five boys (Jake, Michael, James, Matthew C, and Drew) made it in the top 32 to advance to the elimination rounds.  Shout out to Abi (3rd overall) and Jake (7th overall) for their performance.

Girls' INDOOR TRACK
The Bedford girls track team had some terrific performances this past weekend.  We had many personal records and 1st place finishes.  A few stand outs were Molly McCoole - 1st place - HJ. Shanna Scribner - 1st place - Shot Put.  Olivia CoCo, 2nd place - 600m.  Delaney Flanagan with a big PR in the 1500m!  Great job girls!

JV Girls BASKETBALL vs. BG
The team had an exciting game from start to finish. BG brought everything against us and they gave us a challenge from start to the finish. Bedford JV had the best defensive game they have had all season long, playing scrappy and getting their hands on everything! With the score close mostly all game BG hit three 3’s going into the fourth quarter putting them up 27-20 to start the fourth quarter. Focusing on defense Bedford was able to create steals and convert the points to get us back in the game. With 13 seconds left Ali Morgan attacked the basket and hit a nice bank shot from the right wing with 4 seconds left in the game to put us up by 1 point. BG tried their best to get a shot off and feel short.  Leading scorer for Bedford was Sadie MacIver with 7 points, to follow with 4 points each was Emma Rosenbaum, Karina Schappler, Lily Bromley, and Ali Morgan, a great all around game by the whole team!

GREAT EFFORT
NORDIC SKI The Central Skate Relay Race was held at the Gunstock Nordic area since we had no snow at Legacy.  2-person teams skied 2 laps each.  Team Letourneau/Vikstrom finished 6th.   Team Quinn/Beaton finished 8th and Team Anderson/Ropes finished 10th.  On the boys side Team DeAngelis/Giraldi finished 4th and Team Nash/Fessenden finished 5th.

Girls Freshman BASKETBALL vs. BG
The girls freshman team suffered a tough loss at home Tuesday night. The game was back and forth until the end but BG took the win. Bedford played hard and worked well as a team, showing vast improvement. Olivia Stavropoulos, Meghan Lang, and Hannah Mikol each contributed 6 points, while Ava Gaudette did a fantastic job of controlling the pace of the game. Ella Natale and Katie Hirnak were stellar on defense. Wonderful effort demonstrated by all.

Varsity won a great game in OT with a 69 to 65 win over Winnacunet.  BHS improved it's record to 5 and 1.  Connor Crowley hit a 3 point shot with .9 seconds left in the game and was fouled in the act of shooting to force overtime.  Nolan Anderson and Liam Greene led the scoring with 17 and 16 points.  Troy Meservey and Max Chartier had 12 and 10.   Junior Varsity Justin O'neill hit a corner 3 pointer with less than 5 seconds for the win!!  Liam O'Connell led Bedford with 13 points followed by Conner O'Connell  with 8.

Girls' BASKETBALL vs. Winnacunnet
Halfway through the season, the Varsity bulldogs remain undefeated with a 45-31 win over a very tough Winnacunnet team.  Winnacunnet’s zone defense made things tough for Bedford in the second half but the Bulldogs were able to hold on for the win.  Jenoyce Laniyan led all scorers with 16 points while pulling down 8 rebounds.  Maddie Blake finished with 8 points and 10 rebounds.  Aly Fillion also scored 8 points.  Junior Varsity had a rough start to Winnacunnet on Friday night as things were not falling their way.  It was a close game up until half time and were up 17-16, after the half the girls came out as a whole new team and their defense became more intense, shots were falling and attacking the boards for rebounds.  Once in the lead they never looked back!  Junior Sadie MacIver lead the team with 7 points and freshman Emma Rosenbaum and sophomore Lily Bromley both contribution 5 points.

WRESTLING vs. Alvirne, Merrimack, Timberlane

Sophomore Olivia Towey, placed 2rd on Beam with an 8.45.

  • Zach Verow 3rd place in 300m
  • Connor Collins 4th place in 300m
  • 4 x 400m 2nd place with Connor Collins, Zach Verow, Aidan Kenny and David Manella

Another great night, another great team accomplishment!!  Tonight was another fun night with some great swims and close races.  Team spirit was good but the sportsmanship was great!!  After three meets - Bedford boys had a total of 11 swimmers qualify in a total of 54 events!!!  That is crazy and one talented all-around team!   That is an increase of 17 additional State Meet times met tonight.  Nice work!  Bedford Girls now have a total of 12 swimmers qualifying in a total of 38 events.  That makes for two additional girls as well as 12 additional events.  Again, impressive!!  It' is not all about the State meet times, it is about the team effort and improvement from each athlete.  So, here is a cool fact ... Whether in an individual event or a part of a relay, EVERY SINGLE swimmer has scored points this season. It DOES take the whole team to accomplish big things!!

CONGRAULTATIONS
Girls Varsity and JV BASKETBALL vs. Merrimack
The Varsity Bulldogs improved to 9-0 (6-0 in Division I) with a win over Merrimack.  Aly Fillion scored 12 of her 14 points in the first half to get Bedford’s offense going. Jenoyce Laniyan and Maddie Blake led the way in the second half when Bedford opened a 20 point lead that allowed everyone to get a good amount of playing time.  Laniyan ended the game with 9 points while Blake had 8.

Starting the game off down 10-3 at the end of the first quarter, the JV girls never gave up. Slowing down and finally playing our game we dominated the second quarter outscoring Merrimack 14-4. With Merrimack’s scrappy defense they stayed in the game. The fourth quarter we went back and forth up one down one, finally in the last final minutes some key plays that clinched the game was a great drive in the lane by Torrance Ayotte with a dish to Quinn Allen on the block for a nice and easy two points. Finally, with the game tied, Allie Morgan gets fouled and heads to the free-throw line missing the first free-throw; but keeping great composure puts down the second one to put us up by a point. Merrimack tried hard to finish and score but Bedford finished with a great defensive stop to win!

BOYS Varsity BASKETBALL vs. Merrimack
Bedford beat previously undefeated Merrimack by a score of 50 to 13. Troy Meservey and Liam Greene were the leading scorers for BHS with 17 and 9. Max Chartier had 8 and Nolan Anderson had 6. BHS improved their record to 3 and 1.

GREAT EFFORT
Girls Freshman BASKETBALL vs. Merrimack
The game was back and forth until late in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs worked hard, but came up short. Zoƫ Michaud led the team in scoring with 12 and Katie Hirnak added 6. Shreya Sharma worked hard in the paint defensively and added 2 points. Great effort by all!
